Some Speedmasters produced at the end of the 1980’s had a defect in the plexiglass, which became bluish over time. Less than 10 examples are known to exist, usually in private collections. This is the second “Blue Hesalite” that I have acquired in the last fifteen years.
This find is therefore quite exceptional. Completely untouched, never restored or polished, the watch has retained all its original parts. You’ll note the presence of the famous 1450 bracelet, which notably equipped the rare Speedmaster ‘Holy Grail’ ref. 376.0822.
The blogger “the master of speed” has also discovered two examples with the same characteristics (click here).
A couple of pictures of the watch :
This Speedmaster will soon be cleaned and offered for sale. A rare opportunity to acquire a highly sought-after collector’s piece.
