Very rare Jaeger-LeCoultre Chronometre Geomatic ref. E398 18K Rose Gold fully serviced

Very rare Jaeger-LeCoultre Chronometre Geomatic ref. E398 18K Rose Gold fully serviced

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Geomatic was released in 1962, one year after the discontinuation of the mythical Geophysic.  What makes the Geomatic so interesting is its exceptional movement : the automatic caliber 881 with chronometer certification.  This caliber was first tested at the manufacture, then submitted to the COSC and delivered with the mention “résultats particulièrement bons” (particularly good results).

Its production was rather limited : 1700 pieces in stainless steel, 1100 in yellow gold, and only 773 in rose gold.  The present watch is the rarest version (ref. E398).

18K rose gold case with the mention “CHRONOMETRE GEOMATIC” on the back, and an earth globe referring to the universality of the brand.

Original silver sunburst dial, never restored.  Date indication at 3 o’clock.  Gilt indexes and hands.

Gold plated JLC barb buckle.

The movement has been fully serviced by a professional watchmaker.

Probably one of the nicest models produced by Jaeger-LeCoultre !
