Rare Omega Speedmaster Pre-Moon ref. CK 2998-4 powered by the famous caliber 321.
This highly sought after reference has several characteristics : case with straight lugs, small pushers, alpha hands and no “professional” mention on the dial. This is also the first Speedmaster to reach space, when astronaut Walter Schirra wore the watch during the “Sigma 7” mission of the Mercury Programme in 1962. A real grail for every Omega collector !
Original “step” dial in excellent condition, this is one of the best 2998 dials I have seen ! Indexes and hands with a very nice patina.
The watch still has its original « alpha » hands, which is not common because plenty of 2998’s on the market got service hands.
The original “dot over 90” bezel is in very nice condition.
The case is in very good condition, the lugs are still thick and show light bevels. The seahorse is still clearly visible on the caseback.
Plexiglass with Omega logo.
Original crown.
Serial number 18.645.xxx.
The movement has been fully serviced.
